I saw those also.
Only problem is none of the aircraft are genuine AI. Not to mention some of them are payware.

Kevin,

I don't get it: where in the package is a breach of intellectual property?
The fighter_bomber package only contains the three needed files (aircraft, airport & flightplan) to compile traffic, while the transport package contains additional 9 repaints (but no model).

Do I miss something?

Cheers,
Martin

Hi Martin,
I also looked at the package. I think the point Kevin was making unless I am mistaken is that you would have to buy some of the models to get the package up and running rather than the pakage containing any payware items. Also the fact that some models are not true AI which is the aim of MAIW.
Regards,
Steve.

Well yeh guys we know that MAIW is all for Low Poly dedicated AI. But done forget that the point of the post is to make us aware that someone has released an AI package on avsim. It isnt one of ours but its nice to see many more people joining in. Maybe we may have our own far eastern packages coming soon.

Sorry if I misled anyone.

I think it's great that someone has taken the time to provide us with such packages.

My intent was merely to point out that the aircraft used in these packages may not be true AI and might cause low frame rates when used on low end machines. I guess I could have explained that a bit further in my previous post.

It's also well know that while Alphasim produces great aircraft, their AI models are not very forgiving and use quite alot more resources than dedicated AI models.

Once again, my apologies for not explaning my position more clearly.

BTW, this author has several packages available. So he's done quite a bit of work on these. I appreciate it.

Especially the North Korean package by the same author is quite interesting. I've installed it and there are still MiG-15s and MiG-17s (!!) flying around in the DPRK.
BTW. Does anyone know where to find some suitable FDEs for those MiGs? I'm currently using the FDEs that came with the F-117 of MAIW, but sadly the MiG-15 is sitting on it's tail when I use them with those FDEs.

Try using an FDE from an F16 or F15. See how that makes the Mig work.

OK, I'll try that, but will I then get MiG-15s flying over North-Korea at Mach 2.5? :)
