What are these red markings for, I've seen them at many military bases? Are they VIP "red carpet" type markings for when the big whigs visit?

I've noticed similar red lines at US air bases, I wonder if they're VIP parking? (akin to the red carpet).

Those spots are for VIP Parking. Nearly all US Military bases have them.

You are correct. We don't roll out the red carpet, we just panit in on the flight line
