It has been an interesting week around KBTV with the VFA 136 Nighthawks and their F/A-18E Super Hornets from NAS Oceana visiting to train with the F-16C's of the VT ANG's 134th FS. The size and sound of the F/A-18E's was very impressive and watching them fly everyday was a real joy. :D

Mike,

I believe they were probably primarily flying air to ground training sorties to the Adirondack Range at Camp Drum, NY and possibly some air to air training sorties to the Falcon MOA's also near Camp Drum, but in today's world they are very tight lipped on when and what they are actually doing.

It appeared to me that there were at least 8 F/A-18E's involved in the training and I was quite surprised at how much bigger and louder they were than the F-16C's. They were very impressive shooting low approaches and flying the pattern along with the F-16C's.

It was quite a welcome change for we locals as it gets to be kind of routine to see the transient C-130's, P-3C's and KC-135's along with the locally based F-16C's, UH-60's and OH-57's flying around.

Just saw your note. Too late to see them around the skies over Burlington?

eli,

Yes, it is too late to see them as I think they have all departed or at least I have seen and/or heard many of them departing to the the south.

Sorry,

Mike
