Military AI Works

I have installed only a couple MAIW packages. The reason why is that there must be a file contained within that attempts to connect to IE. When I ran my "Ad-aware" software after doing the last MAIW package install it detected 277 "new" critcal objects which I then had Ad-aware get rid of. this isn't the first time this has happened and I'm some what reluctant to install the great MAIW packages. Is there anyway around this?

I would like to commend the MAIW staff for doing all the hard work and making such a great product available to us flightsimmers for free. DougD

It opens up a MHTML file. This is the Read Me. There is no getting around it.

This file is not harmful, and does not connect to the internet in anyway it simply opens in Internet Explorer. You sometimes get error messages about MHTML files but they are totally harmless. My advice would be to ignore the errors that you are getting and run the packages as they are...We have never had a single complaint from anyone of any harm coming to their machine after installing one of our packages.

the MHTML read me will open or pop up even if you have no internet connection ( i installed some MAIW packages on a friends pc with no internet ).

Appreciate your responses. Nick, no harm has been done by the "readme" file it's just when it accesses IE that opens the flood gates for malware, etc. it's just really weird. I don't normally use IE I use Firefox for my browser. My "Ad-aware" program does a real good job of cleaning the crap out but it's just a pain. I going to try to "disable" IE and see if that works. I've done a search and apparently there's a couple ways of doing it. Thanks again guys.

I do sleep mate believe me...you have to remember that Ive been on extended leave from the Military since May and have been looking for work, so Ive had alot of time on my hands.

You shouldn't have a problem with IE accessing "bad stuff" out on the internet just by opening up a MHTML file. I use Firefox as well and don't see any issues.

OTOH, you may be able to associate a MHTML file with another program so that when the installer opens the file...it uses a program of your choice.
