AI Flight Planner Version 1.5
Posted: 06 Sep 2008, 15:10
Some of you may have heard of or used AI Flight Planner, a comprehensive, TTools-compatible, AI flight planning utility for both FS9 and FSX. Its been available from both Avsim and Flightsim for several months.
I have just started an open beta trial of AI Flight Planner version 1.5. (It's been in closed beta for about a month.)
Version 1.5 is essentially version 1.4 redesigned to be much more easily supportable and extendible. But, it offers a few new features over 1.4, including a new, integrated compiler/decompiler and is significantly faster. It also includes an extensively re-written user manual. I anticipate general release by mid-September.
I would be grateful if those of you who have a little extra time over the next week would download it from and use it in your AI flight planning activities, report backing any problems discovered or (hopefully) with a brief note to the effect that you've used it and found nothing amiss. The download file includes instructions for beta testers.
Incidentally, if you're using AIG or MAIW flight plans, please be sure to read at least the introduction in the user manual.
Thanks in advance,
Don
EDIT: Shortly after posting, I received a report that Version 1.5 beta 1 converts FSX days to FS9 days upon decompiling a flight plan with a weekly repeat period. (The traffic operates on the correct days, however.)
A new version fixing this problem has been posted at the original link above. The new version identifies itself in the title bar as version 1.1.
