If memory serves, both of those units were affected by the most recent BRAC. They were supposed to retire their KC-135E aircraft and receive KC-135R aircraft. At the given moment, I believe there is a mix of both at both units but I thought the 185th was almost completely converted.
At the moment the only information I could find is:
185th(BRAC recommended receiving 8 KC-135R):
KC-135E 57-1421
KC-135R 57-1441
KC-135E 57-1501
KC-135R 57-2606
KC-135R 58-0057
KC-135R 58-0067
KC-135E 58-0082
KC-135R 59-1506
KC-135R 59-1519
KC-135R 60-0316
126th(BRAC recommended receiving 12 KC-135R:
KC-135E 56-3611
KC-135E 57-1458
KC-135E 57-2594
KC-135R 58-0104
KC-135E 59-1484
KC-135E 59-1487
KC-135R 64-14839

Thanks Chris, and the plot thickens

I just searched the 185th ARW official site:
185th ARW offical .mil site:
http://www.185arw.ang.af.mil/photos/ind ... eryID=5885
it states that the transition is complete too with the R models coming from the 141st ARW. So it looks like we're just missing 1 serial for the 185th now and 10 from the 126th, Grand Forks is transfering some of their R's to the 126th...just don't know which ones

Yeah, finding out which serials ahead of time would be nice.

Especially with a base like GFAFB which had 36 R/T tankers going to a few places.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Flyin Illini is going to Scott at the end of the month.
So am I.
Maybe between the 2 of us we can get some pics of their aircraft.
