Is there a way to use UGA packages without deleting default GA traffic in FSX?

Yes, by converting the UGA flightplans to FSX standard. Any FS9 - FSX converter would suffice, but you would need to convert ALL flightplans, not just the GA.

You might also want to take a look at this site. He's done some breakout and conversion work for you ---- to help minimize duplications.
FSX Default Traffic and FS2004 Default GA Traffic
Ultimage GA is the best place for GA aircraft packages for FS2004 - they do work in FSX, but some updates are needed for full functionality.
NOTE - the Caravan is in both files. FS defines the Caravan as Airline Traffic, but most people prefer to have it as GA traffic
