For those who may not be aware of or not currently informed, VRS is accepting preorders at a $5 discount (until Dec. 15 2008) for their expected late December release of their tremendously detailed F/A-18E Super Hornet for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. I wanted to invite everyone here at this FANTASTIC FS community that is MAIW to at least go to their forum and check out the wealth of information and potential of, in my opinion, the best FS2004 military addon to date. Also take note of the product description on the homepage that outlines most of the features. Of course there are still mind blowing (previously thought impossible) features that have not been announced so stay tuned to the forums for the latest updates as we build to the release. Thank you for your time. I assure you that you will not be disappointed.
Check Six,
Adam C.

NOTE: that while MAIW has no affiliation with Vertical Reality Simulations they were gracious enough to let me post this here and I want to sincerely thank them for allowing me to do so within this great forum and broadcast to this FANTASTIC community.

Looks great. We had 3 F-18s do a fly-over this morning at the UT game.

Looking forward to flying this bird. Nice Xmas present!

One question. Does it simulate catapult launches and wire traps?

It comes with everything you need to launch and recover, however you will have to provide the carriers to land on. It will be compatible with the Abacus Flight Deck series and the Alphasim U.S.S Enterprise along with freeware carriers that are available also. Note that you can also define cat and trap zones for on shore based runways to simulate what the navy uses to teach Super Hornet pilots to catapult and TRAP while not on the boat (FCLP). Hope this helps,

The first vid is a test catapult at NAS Pax River. For training, they will just do the FCLP hops out to OLF's like Fentress next to NAS Oceana, most NAS's will have the markings painted on at least one runway.

How long has the project been in the works....3 years??

I'd say closer to the 4-5 year range total. It's an astonishing piece of work.

Fantastic! I've been watching the series Jetstream on the History channel over here in the UK which follows a group of RCAF F-18 trainee fighter pilots. Can't wait to put in to practice what I learned from it :D
