Hey Denis,
Couple of things we need from you first matey,
1) Can you post the exact file names please. Just so we can check on the duplicate afcad question.
2) We use both AF2 & AFX for FS9, as we do not support FSX.
P.S
Let us no the file names & which package you speak of?

Just to clarify, "AF2" files were created with the freeware program "AFCAD" by Lee Swordy, "AFX" files were created with the payware AFX program.

You learn everyday, I too thought the AFX were for FSX, infact I think I've put a few in FSX but not tried them, Damn!!!
On the subject of the 2 programs, is the AFX one any better, if so what are the benefits/drawbacks if any?

AFX is like the grown up version of AFCAD. It is superior in many, many ways. AFX works for both FS9 and FSX. AFCAD only works for FS9 unless you run the files through a conversion to work in FSX. Also AFX does a lot more in the way of scenery design than does AFCAD. AFX combines several different scenery design elements into one user friendly program.
If I wasn't so set in my ways and was just starting out, I'd spend the money for AFX. As it is now, I use AFCAD and several other programs to accomplish what AFX does on its own.

And...
Do not open AFX files with AFCAD2 as it will remove AFX features that it does not understand such as the excludes. You may find tress and buildings all over the airfield.
All my AFCADs are now done with AFX BTW.

The two drawbacks that I find with AFX are that when you scroll it only does it in relationship to North and not the heading that you are currently on, that REALLY bugs me. The second one is the lack of an Aircraft Editor like the original afcad.

I use both. I use AFX for the initial work, slaving it to MSFS so I can position parking spots etc so they're not in buildings and are where I want them. Once I'm satisfied I clean everything up in AFCAD as I like the way it does taxiways and I find it works with the "side lines" of taxiways much better.

Yes the A/C editor is something I miss too. I'm going to suggest it to the authors and also the inclusion of a flatten tool.

The option to add flatten polygons in AFX would be great and what about an option to add VTP polygons for airport backgrounds (grass, dirt, etc.)?
