Military AI Works

We are looking to see if we can more accurately model the lights configuration used on Military Aircraft. What we need is a little help from those in the know.

We have been looking at USAF aircraft first. In general they do not have flashing orange beacons found on civil aircraft but White Strobes. These are fine in flight but do not appear to be used on the ground. I assume from my experience it is a safety issue of the High Intensity bulbs. We have seen that some aircraft, like the F-16, have their red and green navigation lights flashing whilst taxiing and then switch them to continuous as they enter the runway and switch the strobes on.

Can anybody clarify what happens so we can see if it is possible to copy the arangement.

Not sure on the F-16, but many have a two position beacon light. In the UH-60 we use white for day and red for night. I know several other military helos that have this and some do not, like the CH-47 doesn't. The position lights also have a steady/flash setting. Not sure on most USAF birds.

Dutch F-16's for sure have their tail strobe on during taxying...
