				Taxiway/Runway Textures

Going through a Russian phase and getting various bits and pieces from AVSIM.RU.
The default textures for the taxiways/runways are as steel matting and they look like the attached piccie.
Does anyone know of better textures available as they do appear to be a bit garish.
I know I should try AVSIM.RU but my Russian isn't too hot so my apologies for that. Some of their stuff is really good eye-candy and is well worth the use of babel-fish to get by the language barrier.
Hope some one can help.

You can change the texture in AFCAD. Steel Matting is one of many textures in the drop down list.

Happy with AFCAD, and they are set as Steel, I've attached what it's supposed to be like.
So it looks as if my textures are wrong in my folders.
Any ideas?

You say they are set to steel in the afcad, so the texture is correct, set to something else and save the afcad.

Had a quick look at my textures and it looks as if it has corrupted somehow.
Found an original texture and it seems to be OK.
Looks as if the second attachment doesn't use the steel textures either, so no wonder I was confused.
Thanks for the help guys

I have the UNNT Tolmachevo ai/scenery pack incluuding both civilian and military aviation. It has installed tons of great "Afcad" files, many of which utilize a rather nice "aged concrete surface" texture. This texture is in fact labelled as "steel".
I can't remember if the download has changed my original steel textures or not, but the effect is great if you do have it. It is possible that a previous download had already done this. Look into it.
I suggest that you do not change the Afcad settings. Instead, look for changing your textures: The steel texture is unlikely to be used elsewhere, so it makes sense to change it for something more useful. You won't be dissappointed - all those Russian Afcad sceneries will take on a much more authentic look.
I have since gone on to use the "steel" texture in the design of many second and third world country's airfields, giving them that suitably dilapidated finish.
I'm sorry I can't remember where my so-called "steel" textures are from, or if in fact they are the default ones. Anyone else know the answer?
