As I am sitting in the hotel room zapping through the channels I am watching CNN right now. It seems a F-18 jet crashed into the northern San Diego area when preparing to land at Miramar. CNN said pilot ejected but there is known nothing about the pilot's condition or fatalities on the ground so far.

4th body found. It's a girl. And she's not an only kid. She's got a sister that died also. Plus, her mom, and her grandmother died too. She's got a father. When the plane crashed her dad was at work. And a California congressman is determined not to let this happen again. He's asking for maintenance records of all USMC F/A-18s. Also there have been reports of cracks in the jets.

Which has nothing to do with the crash. Take a quick GE look around KNKX and you will see nothing but houses. Very sad indeed, but expect much press from the homeowners that bought homes next to a major US military jet base. Latest from other real world military based forums, jet was returning from carrier ops single engine when the second engine failed.

This is another example of encroachment on a military base. Take a look at Oceana and you will see the same thing. People here have been crying for years trying to get rid of the planes citing noise and if it were to crashing into houses.
I for one love the sound of jet noise.
