I have seen some repaints of jake burrus P-3 Orion popping-up in the flightsim world. Was there a painkit released? I've been looking to do my own Brunswick NAS.

Hi Ray,

Your P-3 repaints rule! Did you already had the time to take a look at the JMSDF EP-3?

Lewis,
Those would be great to update the NEUMAI packages that came out years ago for NAS Brunswick with the M. Stone Orions. Anyway to get these new repaints on Avsim?

Actually, these are my own upgrade for the NEUMAI package that had M. Stones P-3, but using Jake Burrus P-3 instead. I replaced all 8 M. Stones acfts with Jake's AI model and repainted them using the package P-3 textures as reference, so they would have the same visual effect as to the original package. If anyone is interested on these AI acfts, PM me an e-address and I will gladly send them to you. They are already packed and ready for delivery, just need to replace the M. Stones P-3 with the new ones, they are a complete set, nothing else needed.

I was wondering about a paintkit as well? I am still interested in painting the whole Aero Union Fire Tanker fleet. Any info is appreciated!

Well! How about that!??!?!? Those are looking good. It seems to be a common theme around here that two people are working on the same thing simultaneously without either knowing about it! Thanks for the heads up. Just curious, are you doing flightplans of these aircraft ferrying back and forth between bases? I know that their winter FP's are (would be) completely different than the summer FP's. (if there even are many winter flights. I would think these planes spend a lot of time in maintenance over the winter due to their busy Summer schedule.) Either way, looks good, and thanks again for the heads up!

flight plans will have aircraft ferrying back and forth between bases and to way points. like you say winter time is maintenance mainly so summer plans it will be.

Just a thought.... Maybe you can add fire and smoke to simulate a forest fire and have some waypoints over the top of the forest fire.

I actually have thought about doing that. I began to set up some of the fires from a couple summers ago that were just west of Cascade, Idaho. (not that there aren't forest fires in that area every year.) I painted some of the smokejumper planes that fly out of McCall, and have them flying the circuit over the fire area, as well as ferry flights. One thing I noticed on the RWAI AN-2 was that the model had animated parachute jumps. I wondered if there was an FDE to change on the HTAI Twin Otter to be able to add something like that to it, as well.? (I am clueless when it comes to that stuff.) I have been doing a number of paints for all of the Forest Service and Forest Fire support aircraft, with the hopes of maybe putting something together, but, we shall see. There are a lot of aircraft out there that they use for fire suppression which aren't available as AI models. (namely helicopters and the SEAT's-which are pretty much cropdusters full of fire retardant.) Maybe in time......

The one that is part of the An-2 is actually built into the model so you can not add it to another model.

However, there is some kind of parachute jumper effect or something that you can apparently add to any model. I don't know where to find it or what it's called, but I've seen it and we even thought about using it in a package that ended up never being completed, so I know it's out there somewhere.
