Hi all,
I appreciate this is not your scenery but allowing for the level of experience and knowledge on this site I thought I'd ask....

I get this very odd effect as I fly over John Stinstrom's North Island scenery. Could somebody at least let me know either what it is or the possible reasons for it please.

I've tried emailing John but the email keeps being fired straight back to me in error.
This is fs9, if it helps to know I'm also running Ground Enviroment 2006.

Any ideas gratefully received.
Thank you in advance

Now that IS weird. No ideas though. I can let John know to have a look at this thread and maybe he'll know better what might be going on. He's been pretty busy with real life these days though.

I have to ask are you using FS9 or FSX, plus have you got the right version of scenery, knzy_1.zip for FS9 or fsx_knzy.zip for FSX.

Hi guys,
Thank you Mike, I would appreciate that but of course I appreciate real life demands will and should always come first...

Firebird, hello again, it is indeed FS2004 and yes I have the 2004 version of the scenery installed.

I'm just hoping that it is not a GE 2006 issue, haven't seen anybody else have a prob with it. Oh and just so you know, with GE 2006 I have yet to find an issue with any of the MAIW scenery I have installed. Including Miramar which is not that far away geographically, so I don't think its a problem with the local area.

Anyway, out of my depth with this ......anything else will be appreciated.
Thank you so far,

Regards,

Hi Fastair,
Having the same set up as you, generally speaking, I downloaded the scenery and took a look. Although I have GE Pro, I had no issues there at all.
I would tend to rule out GE for the simple reason that you would see the same effect in other places.

What I would do, is disable the NI scenery and then see if the effect is still there, it might be a corruption. IF not then its almost guaranteed not a GE prob.

What I would then do is download the scenery afresh and see if get a return of the problem. My guess at the moment is that either another scenery that you have installed is causing the issue, maybe a particular KSAN that you have. I have Miramar installed so I don't believe that this is the cause.

The other thing that it might be is mesh related issue, try disabling the mesh for area to see if this helps.

Hi Firebird,
Thank you for the suggestions. Ok, update time, I removed the scenery, re-downloaded it from flightsim.com. Re-installed and activated......

Its a lot better than before, however, a similar problem still exists. It seems to be focused around the yellow fuel tankers parked near the storage towers, hence the mostly yellow colouring of the effect. Looking in the scenery folder, I can't see these listed seperately.
However, i do see the GSE bgls.

Edit: Right I have deleted the GSE bgl (GSE_EZ) and it seems to solved the problem....Random, a shame though as I like having ground equipment around. Plus I have other scenery with it present with no issues....

Thanks again for your help.
Kind regards

Ps. Only have the Default KSAN, was thinking about installing another, but wondered if its proximity to NI would an issue. Also, when you mention disabling the mesh, do you mean in the scenery library within fs ? Thanks again

Fastair, nice to see some improvement in your situation.

For your info I use the FRF KSAN w/o any problems, thats Frame Rate Friendly Studios.

On the JSE bgl front, It might be worth seeing if you have another version that is being picked up. The reason I say this is that the version that the MAIW libs use is newer and larger. Whilst using that version as a global doesn't hurt me there may be a version that is causing you issues.
Alternatively if you have no other version try the latest one, and its textures ,you never know.

The mesh I was talking about is if you have a third party mesh, but its not important as you have found the cause.

Ah, hadn't thought of that. I shall go and have a dig around for any other GSE lib objects I might have.

As always, many thanks for your time and help, it is hugely appreciated.
Oh and thanks for the KSAN tip off....

Best regards,

I saw this type of texture blurring once with FLY II but never in MSFS. It's almost like there are multiple file types conflicting with each other on the aircraft. Sorry I can't help.
