I have few packages installed in FSX and they all work based on instructions on how to install MAIW packages in FSX. The only problem I have is that I installed the Simmons AAF package and there is no traffic at all. I can see the traffic on all other excep this one any help is greatly appreciated

Check for a duplicate afcad. Sounds like the culprit. Not sure though since you're talking FSX.

Just to be sure: The file Traffic_MAIW_Simmons AAF.bgl is located in the ..\scenery\world\scenery folder?

Runway8,
I follow you too on the issue of no AI at Simmons or the National Guard ramp of KRDU Raleigh NC in the attempt to run FSX as much as possible. I had followed all procedures that allowed other packages to work but no results here or there. If I come across a solution I will let you know.

As a small test I re-introduced Simmons AAF to FSX without doing anything special and voila, I get everything that I have in FS9. I'm running Flight1 Addon Converter but I don't think that is helping. I have not validated the schedules but when I dropped in with my LittleBird around 1245 EST Chinooks started requesting taxi clearance and things became very busy.

Keith,
From a curiosity and learning point, what did you do the first time that was special and prevented the aircraft showing up?

Hi Steve,
I tried two different methods but both started with running the installer to save all package files to a central folder with name similar to the name of the airfield of the package.
The first method was to cut/paste the traffic bgl over to Scenery\world\scenery and then keep everything else in the new folder under scenery subfolder and run scenery library to add the package as a new scenery file.
But the primary option was to copy all scenery related files and AF2s to Addon Scenery\Scenery then do the file conversions.
From the location of the traffic bgl I ran a program called AI Flight Planner and selected convert from FS9.
Then replaced the original un-converted bgl with the converted bgl.
Next I ran the main AF2 file through the procedures for fs92fsx
Used newbglanalyse to disassemble to create xml
Copied the xml to BGLCompX
Slid the xml over the Auto-Convert then on BglComp icon to get new bgl.
In some cases I would see errors while the AutoConfig ran but I would continue.
I think most of the times I would run into the vanishing act with the converted AF2 or AFX file. I'm still not sure. I remembered on a couple of occasions with other files but re-did the install without any conversions and everything shows up. I just need to go back and validate the start up and arrival times.
I hope this helps.

Keith,
Many thanks. I don't use FSX myself, but info like this is always useful in solving problems that people have.
So in a nutshell you believe that the problem was the conversion of the afcad file.

Steve,
I still do not have a definite conclusion. I might be seeing good results with the AI Converter from Flight1 running. This might be converting the afcads and when I run the freeware converters and BGLCompX and such this might be affecting the files. I will run an installation without converting the traffic bgl but convert the afcad and vice-versa to see what happens. I'll let you know what I find.
