Indian Air Force paints - anybody?

Indian skies are sadly lacking in mil ai, so I have been trying to build some schedules etc. But no one has yet dedicated time to the repainting of suitable ai aircraft (although I did find a couple FMAI M2ks), leaving my poor sim struggling with crippling frame rates.
It is good to see things changing on this front however, with the recent emergence of the cis an-32 repaints. Also, I see mig-29's and su-27/30s have just appeared too.
But please! - my computer will not put up with any more of this non-ai abuse! Is there anyone willing to try and get enthusiastic over a Rulexy Il-76 (and -78) repaint, along with a NBAI Jaguar, or even HAL/Hs.748s (perhaps utilising the DWAI model)? Even the govt. 737s have not been represented yet in our ai skies.

Oh, and not to mention the harriers of course...

Anyway, you get the picture. Here's to your inspiration

Welcome to the forum.
Yep, I think we get the general picture here but you will be out of luck with the Harriers as the Navy has Sea Harriers which Nick did not make a model of.

Given that there is no ai friendly shar model, a "fictional" representation of an Indian Navy harrier with the wrong model would of course suffice. And while this would not be as attractive a project to repaint - due to this neccessarily fictional aspect - as something we DO have a good ai model for, it is far better than its complete absence from the skies. This does not mean I hold much hope for the Indian harrier - but my point is that meeting a slightly incorrect model with a convincing paint job would be far more acceptable than meeting nothing, at least in this case. So painters: please don't be put off!

In the meantime, there are lots of more compelling IAF repaints to embark upon for those that feel the need to observe greater realism. I am sure the paints will be well received and I look forward to them all. Remember, the Indian Air Force is the fourth largest in the world (apparently).

I also note that there are a few hidden, tasty files lurking here and there amongst the forums. Is there an easy way to bring them all up in a search on one page? Please forgive my ignorance, I'm new here and have probably missed something obvious

I have posted pix of my NBAI repaint of the Jaguar. I've just not had time lately to keep working in my Indian AF project which is almost a year old now...LOL.

I am using Kazinori Ito's Sea Harrier with fairly good frames.

That is one package I'll be looking forward to!

Would love to get my hands on the three basic jaguar paint schemes for a frame-rate-friendly model (such as the NBAI).

Hell, I even tried messing about with Adobe photoshop  but, judging by my total failure to get satisfactory results, I will leave that to the pros out there.

Now here's a bird that's definitely missing from all ai repaint libraries I've come across.

Anyone know of an aardvark repaint out there? Or willing to take this one on?

Here's more pics on the above theme...

Again, I would be most grateful if anyone is happy to bang one out for me (so to speak).

Either model would do...

Nice work Anirudh! :D

I've managed to get hold of a 737 paint for the Air Force HQ flight based at Palam. But not much time for simming at the moment...

There has been an excellent ERJ-135 out for some time http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=110237. Have a look at it.

It can't hurt. I know a certain gentleman that may very well use it. :)

@Anirudh
Very quick work. Are you going to make this available too?

Can't quite tell from the pic, but is that a freeware scenery for VIDP?

If so, is it any good, and where can I find it?

Cheers...

I have done some representative flightplans for the Boeing 737s and BBJs as well as the four Embraer EMB-135s of the Indian Airforce Air HQ Communication Squadron. Also included is the EMB-135 of the Indian Border Security Force (so that's five Embraers all-together).

All aircraft based at Palam AFS.

Anirudh, if you consider them upto scratch you may use them in a release/package in conjunction with your repaint.

pm me if interested.

Anirudh,
Which one of the 4 models should the scheme be applied to?
sapu a, sapu b, xapu a or xapu b?
