I believe the have to be 'AFX' to work in FSX, but I'm sure an FSX user can correct me if i am wrong...

FS9 afcads made with afcad 2.21 by Lee Swordy certainly work "just fine" in FSX as evidenced by the ability to just stick MAIW afcads into FSX and get results without modification. Those results "do vary", however.

In my experience, any differences seen are most likely a result of parking spec differences and/or FSX-specific features not being available (like moving jetways and "real" airport vehicle pathways) because Lee couldn't anticipate/include them in the afcad 2.21 program.

I have seen positive results with just running the package install then copy every sub-folder to the appropriate place in FSX without any further manipulation. I have not completely verified whether or not the flights are on schedule or not. I am seeing active MAIW flights and I am satisfied. The only problem I had previously was from trying to run a couple of freeware conversion programs and never had consistency of AI aircraft showing up. So I stopped trying to convert these files and just installed them.

Have you used the MAIW-scenery files too?

Yes, the scenery as far as we know will work in FSX as well.
