I need a special favour!

Hi,

I need to ask a favour from anyone with the FSX BGLComp SDK.

I am trying to correct the terrible fs9 default UK airspace FIS "Center" ATC allocations, and to resolve the problem of being handed over to Manchester Control when in the West Country or South Wales. So I have edited all the London and Scottish FIR sectors to be a better representation of the sort of structure one finds in the real world.

However, the usual program for recompiling fs9 bgl files cannot handle the particular format, and I have been advised to use the FSX BGLComp as a way forward. Unfortunately I cannot get hold of this tool, as I don't have FSX.

So, are there any kind souls here who would be willing to recompile my bvcf.xml file using their FSX BGLComp? I would have to send it via email. Of course I'd be happy for you to use it privately (if you know how to), but it can't be shared publicly.
Edit: Actually, it can be shared publicly. I just found out I don't need the whole file recompiled, only the sections I have written myself. So it's all legal :D It's also pretty small :D :D Please help :D :D :D

Cheers,

Dan

Ahem. Nothing dodgy being asked here. See my edit above...

File size is only 23.5 kb. It will be smaller after recompilation (probably).

If you ever fly FS9 in the UK, this file will make things a little more believable. No more being handed over to Manchester, when you're on the other side of the country! Get the correct frequencies for your FIS when in Scotland, etc. etc.

Cheers,

Dan

I have to ask a daft question here, at least I think its daft, can you not download the sdk and do what you wanted yourself?
The reason I ask is that the FS9 SDK doesn't need FS9 installed to be able to compile stuff, I think, so does the FSX SDK need FSX installed?

AMENDMENT
Never mind I have just found out that you need the FSX Deluxe version to get the original SDK. How daft.

Oh yes please. I fly FS9 and a decent ATC would be a great help.

I guess it's pretty obvious that I no longer need the favour. Thanks all!

Just a thought John, and I'm sorry to be repeating to you what you're probably already aware of, but in the unlikely event that you're not aware: ATC can be improved a little if you use an option in Edit Voice Pack which gives you quicker speech. And of course there's the setting that gives a European telephony standard as well. Shame about the accents, though  (sorry, snide remark :) ).

Did the file work OK? Hope I didn't open a can o' worms when I suggested editing all the low-level airspace ATC with AFCAD...
