Good luck finding a 20D new, its old now compared to the 40D and 50D. Heck my 30D is old now compared to those. You will only be able to get a 20d used. If you find it new, your lucky.

I wasnt ripping on the 20D, i was actually going to get it until my budget raised and i was able to get the 30d. All canon cameras do great work regardless. If your looking at amatuer photography, id go with the XTI or XSI. They are cheap and are almost the same as the D series cameras. I do not recommend nikons. Pictures from them just look distorted and weird in color.

I recently bought an Olympus E-520 Outfit w/two lenses for well under your budget. It's not the newest model, but still available as new. See Steves-digicams.com for detailed review. I plan on getting a Zuiko ED70-300mm for use at airshows (this will take you over the budget-but the ED 40-150mm that came with it will do for a while).
Do any of you with experience have any comments to share on this choice?
