Random Traffic bgl issue...

Hi guys,
I wonder If anybody else has had this problem and could maybe shed some light on it please. I have just finished a revised traffic file for RF-4's and TR-1's at RAF Alconbury.......They compiled with no problem, they show up in the list within TTools, the directory path for them to go to is the Scenery/world/scenery folder......

However, when i look into that folder within FS2004, the traffic file does not appear anywhere, even after doing a file search, which says it doesn't exist,, but sits there within TTools...

Confused to say the least, anybody any idea please, many thanks

Regards

Edit, sorry forgot to mention, the traffic shows up in the sim and I'm running Vista if that helps at all.

Believe it or not the last info does help. Several people have had problems with compiling flightplans under Vista. Quite often changes they make don't seem to take.

Now I have prefered to avoid Vista like the plague, so i am going only on what I have heard or read here.
Vista has had its security set to really tight as default. So whilst nobody has found an absolute answer yet, we assume that you either have to loosen up the security a lot, or switch it off, or find a way for individual tools to work OK.
What my personal believe is, so don't take it as gospel, is that Vista doesn't know about Ttools so it won't allow it to add things to an FS directory. How you go about getting around that I can't help but either you have to make an global amendment or one to FS or one to Ttools.

Hello again Steve,
Thank you for your quick response, food for thought and a starting point at least. Guess I'm just confused that the traffic bgl does not appear in the scenery/world/scenery folder yet the aircraft show up and depart and fly as they should........So not all bad I guess.....lol

Thank you again, I shall report back with anything I find that may be of use.

Kind Regards

OK, well it would seem the logic thing to do is use the search tool, as you know what the bgl is called.

As the traffic shows up it has to be in the FS search path for bgls, this means it could be in a scenery folder. The other thing I would do is look to see what your Ttools 'ActiveTrafficFolder' is set to in ttools.cfg.

If you haven't found the solution yet. They are under 'Compatible files' just above the main window. Took me ages to notice it!

Hi guys,
The path in the TTools cfg is set to default and tried the search idea before originally posting, it came up with no results Hence my confusion, I guess a long winded manual search is the key....

Thank you again for your help so far.

Chris,
You are a star, compatability files was the key........found it and have regained control from Vista...Success.

Steve thank you again for your prompt response and help as always, every day a FS education......

Best regards to you all
