It would be cool if someone could like maybe give a list of needed programs for creating such packages like Maiw makes and maybe even some simple quick how to's like maybe just the process's taken to create these wonderful works of art. I know I would love to be able to make some packages myself or even know how to modify the ones I have, Maybe others would too.

The first 2 programs you need are TTools and AFCAD. Those can be found at any of the major library site.

Flightsim.com has them in their 'must have' files area.

Read the read-me files so you get an understanding about how AI works.

There is a nice tutorial called 'AI made easy', by Mike Stanton.
http://michaelstanton.net/ai/index.htm

And since you're using FSX you're gonna want to use this conversion tool.
http://www.interkultur.de/gossmann/fsx/aifp.php

And then comes scenery design. You'll need a program such as RWY12t Object Placer ---> http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=92079. There is a nice payware program for FSX but I don't recall the name at this time.

And the one thing that I see as the most important addition to AI planning is time. You will need lots of it. First for learning how it all works, then for building packages b/c once you start you won't ever want to quit.

And I haven't even touched on doing your own repaints..but that's a whole other tutorial.

Oh, and then when you think you've got it all figured out, the sim does something funky to muck it all up....LOL.

Good Luck.

Thank you for the information. I think its important that people continue to add to the flight simulator family. I was reading and it looks like IF ms comes out with a new one it wont be for some time now. The work that MAIW and WOAI and others do are exactly what keeps Flight sim alive.
