AVSIM File Library is Back !!

Hello,

When surfing on avsim, I notice that :
After over two months of hard work by our volunteers, we are pleased to announce that the file library is back online and providing downloads for the community. We are going to keep the upload function off for a while in order to assess the stability of the system and work out any bugs that may remain. We believe we recovered over 95% of the library system, and you may find some things missing. Please post any comments or questions you may have in the File Library Forum. Thank you for your patience during this period.
Very happy that Avsim File Library come back again !!! .

But have you tried downloading anything yet?
I tried a couple of files and got the message that the file does not exist and I was not trying to download the files that have the message included on the left that the file is not available.
I hope they do get it sorted but only time will tell.

Great work to all those involved, yet still a work in progress.....
Tried a couple of Ray Parker downloads and got the same issue, no file found.......Fingers crossed and I'll just be patient, but great to see them back..

The biggest problem I have found with it is in the seacrh engine, but if you go to the change category section you can do a manual search for what your looking for.

Someone discussed earlier about the Alpha B-1B repaints, I was just going to download the Reluctant Dragon Repaint when AVSIM went down, but low and behold I downloaded it with no probs, amazing, had the B-1B from Alphasim for awhile now, and realize now how freakin awesome that aircraft is, dam it man i love those afterburners!!! okay enough for now , some files work some dont , Im very greatful for all those people involved that got the files up and running again. Thank you.

Great news. Congratulations to the Avsim volunteers.

But please, let's not put all our eggs in one basket again!

Is it now time to put past grievances aside, and at least consider the fact that Flightsim.com has come on leaps and bounds? They have a vastly improved search function - which is far better than what Avsim have reverted to (limits on min length of search string) - and have actively consulted with their user base at the AIG forum to bring the changes that people really want.

I, for one, will now always upload to more than one library.
