Hi all, did some google searching and came across some old flight schedules for Charleston AFB from the 437th Virtual Airwing, granted they are from 2001 but they give me something to work with. Will add my own departure and arrival times but would like to know, callsigns that Charleston uses and the current fleet they fly please. Any other info relevant would be very handy too please.

Easiest way to research this info is to get on Airliners.net and search for the Charleston C-17s (which is what they fly). From all these pictures you should be able to find some that have what callsign the aircraft used on that flight.

One callsign for sure is "Reach" used on MAC flights. Then there are probably a couple different ones that they use for local and training stuff.

some additional callsigns for Charleston are:

LIFTER
ROYAL
GRITS
BASCO

"Grits"....nice and fitting for that part of the country.

Those extra's you added are they Globemaster flights or other aircraft from the base, it seems Reach gets used for most transport flights from what I can see

Those would most likely be used for local training type sorties.

I think "Reach" is reserved for when they are on an active MAC mission moving stuff around.

......Mike is absolutely correct; Generally speaking, they will have a set of tactical callsigns that will be utilized on a day-to-day basis.....then if they are doing X-counrty or live sorties, they generally use 'Reach'; There are many aircraft that will as well...C-5's, C-130's, and occasionally other Air Force aircraft may use it.
