This is the site allegedly owned by the person/persons who allegedly hacked Avsim.

They go straight to my junk mail box now.

I got one this evening. Could the email address have actually come from the Avsim files as members?

That's the going rumor these days. Essentially stolen from AVSIM's registration database.

The owner of the site is allegedly the person who hacked Avsim.
He was hired at Avsim, given access to all areas and suddenly his site is sending emails to everyone who had forum access at Avsim.
He was dismissed after denying everything.
Shortly after....Avsim was hacked.

Guess where the trail led back to? Allegedly...lol.

So is that the "guy" that they've given evidence to the UK authorities about?

Hmmm. I got one and as far as I know I have never joined the Avsim forums. Strange.

Have you never downloaded files from Avsim?

I could be wrong but I think you have to be a "member" - ie. have an email address on file somewhere - to do this.

I dunno, co-incidence is a real prospect, but I'm sceptical. I still think its most likely to be harvested from the Avsim database.

I do believe it was harvasted from the database. I recall way back when when I signed up with AVSIM I had to provide a email address. So I do believe this guy is now spamming everyone with those email addy's he got.

Guys...it hasn't done any good to unsubscribe. The emails continue.
You'll need to go into your profile and change the email address you first supplied.
By doing this, one can hope it clogs their in box beyond capacity.
