Nothing in the world sounds like that, I'm gonna miss it!

We get a 212 come to work from EGOS for a week or so a couple of times a year, can't beat the sound of the two-bladed rotor. Hueys don't fly - they beat the air into submission!

I am sure going to miss it. Flew for about 20 years on them as a crewchief before our unit changed to the Blackhawks.

I read somewhere, maybe in "Chickenhawk", that at one time it was the only helo that the blades were heavy enough that the engine could be shut down with the blades at a high RPM and you could pull pitch and still lift off.

Sounds right, I missed my chance to fly them in flight school, but my older coworkers, the Huey was a very forgiving airframe to fly and easy to autorotate compared to the current H-60, which drops out the sky like a rock!
