What camera are you using?

I picked up a Canon EOS Rebel XSI from our exchange at a good price, then I ordered a 70-300mm lens online. Alot to learn with the camera, i'm as rookie as they come with photography lol.

have you posted on Fence Check? I'm shooting Canon 20D and 30D - I'm trying to justify the upgrade to the 7D, (at a cost of $1,800 ) but I don't think I'll be getting it any time soon.

Also, there's a lot of helpful people at fencecheck that would help you out and give you pointers.

Ha ha really??? I use just 20D. I thought I HAD to be the only one on Earth still using it. Makes me feel better knowing I'm not alone. I've mostly been using my 70-200 2.8 but have also used the 75-300 USM. 75-300 USM killed me with chromatic abberation on cloudy days though. I liked the focal length but would reserve that for blue skies. Also, I've been thinking about getting a doubler to the 70-200. Canon makes two which would work with that lens and still allow for the use of autofocus. They are the 1.4x, with which you lose one f stop, and the 2.0x, with which you lose two full stops and would have to shoot at a minimum f/5.6. I could pretty much only use that on a sunny day at noon, but 400mm ... I like the sound of that.

Thoughts? Has anyone else used either doublers and could maybe recommend?

Hi Mark,

Some nice shots there. Do you have any editing equipment because I recommend Adobe Photoshop CS(1-4.) This allows you to shoot RAW files which are a godsend! I started using RAW this year and I feel a big improvement with my photos.
Similar to you I have a 70-300mm lens however my camera is a Nikon D50 with 6MP so you'll have an easier time cropping.

I do have Photoshop CS2, I was worried about shooting raw images, and filling my memory card, I just picked an 8GB so I should be ok. I have an airshow I will be at in Grand Forks in May, will give it a shot then.

I have Photoshop CS2, what do I need to open the raw files? they are in CR2 format and are 14mb in size. Photoshop says it cannot open the file.
