F-15 and KC-135s at Seymour Johnson AFB

Here's my edition of Seymour Johnson AFB. I made the AFCAD myself as I haven't seen any out there to match the closest to the actual AFB layout. I didn't add any extra buildings, just the default. So this is the result. I added over a hundred parking spaces, more than 90% used by the F-15s over there. The amount of spaces depicted in here I tried to closely match in number to the actual Seymour Johnson AFB based on Google Earth shots. The exact locations may have been slightly modified due to the placement of the original buildings that were put in there by FS9 in the first place. But I tried to match the layout given these limitations.

So without any more here is a look around and flyover with another visiting F-15C (colors were from one based at Kadena AFB) that I'm flying.

I enjoyed making the shots here. I hope you liked them. I also enjoyed building the AFCAD for this base. I've done many of the military bases that I've stumbled upon in this similar manner as this one.

The KC-135 ramp is the other big concrete ramp at the end of the runway, not attached/near the F-15E.

Other than that great job 8)

Don't forget about the custom scenery that is part of the MAIW package for Seymour Johnson, it's very good!

That ramp is there. However the AI liked parking over at the other end. I did have that part modeled, if you looked at the flyover shots. It is already set as Mil Cargo. Just don't ask why the AI likes parking at the other end (these were also set as Mil Cargo).

You need to activate the MAIW Seymour Johnson scenery folder in your addon scenery folder.

You really are missing out if you have not done this.

He made that AFCAD for FSX, does the scenery work for FSX?? If it does, then yes ED_4 you are missing out!!

If the KC-135's don't want to park there, it may be a radius issue. Try making the radius larger and make sure you use parking codes.

I already activated it just recently, but the parking in the east end of the base for the KC-135 had to be corrected. There were 5 short of the real parking area's number of parking spaces for the KC-135. So I added those five. And also added more spaces on the western end (about 8 of them) for other large aircraft. I'll show you my corrections to the place in a few here. But one thing to know for all of you. I don't use FSX, I only use FS9.

Here are my shots around the base.

The first shot here shows the western parking area I said above that had no parking space. The change is very minimal but there are now space for large cargo planes on those.

Here's the flyover on the eastern parking area. The spaces now have the 16 total that it should have.

Another look overhead of the western parking spaces. I also added 3 more parking areas that were missing. Namely the ones at the northern part of it.

Another flyover at the eastern parking.

The main parking area for the F-15s.

Just buzzed the tower back there.

Time for a nice aerobraking at landing.

Having a look around the parking areas.

This hangar sure is large enough for one of these 707 sized planes.

Parked right beside a couple of F-5s.

Ed the reason that there are only 12 spots there is so that we do not have any transient aircraft parking in that area which is where the 77th ARS KC-135's park. Adding any extra spaces will open up the possibility of other aircraft types parking there which we do not want to happen.

BTW, what's up with the texture on that F-15? It's all blurry.

Don't ask me about that. Perhaps it wasn't done in a high resolution. I don't have any control on what others work looks. But it is the only one there with those colors.
