Interesting. The small ones in the mountains would scare me the most. I actually got to fly in to Kai Tak before it was closed. I can remember looking out the window into the windows of buildings going by. My wife actually got to sit in the jump seat during the landing. This was back when you could do that. The only time I ever got to do it was on a SAA flight into Jo'burg. Its a thrill for those of us who don't fly for a living.

It reminds me of a story told by Ernie Ghann in "Fate is the Hunter" about a particularly harrowing approach that involved flying up a fjord in Greenland. Anyone who has not read this book should do so. Its out of print but you can still find it on Amazon, etc. :)
