The current Poly count or patch count, triangle polys, is just under 6000 polys. It is a lot I know, I would really like to cut down on them but lets see what happens, I also still need to do the tail. The problem with this helo for me was that to get the shape and the top part part right, You really need to have used a lot of polys otherwise it does not look like it should. Thanx for the comments buddy.

miljan
Buddy, we learn new things each and everyday hehe Regarding SAAF helos... I plan to make after this if all goes well the A109, the Bk117 and lastly the Lynx, if no-one else have done it bt that time. I also plan to make just modify this Oryx into a SA330J or L model, since the Oryx was mostly an upgrade to these Pumas. Maybe an older C or so for the RAF can also do.Thanx for the comments buddy.

It certainly is a complex shape. That's the hardest part, getting the shape to look right while using as few polys as possible. Should be a nice model when it's done.

This Oryx model could be used like Romanian IAR-330 helicopter. It is similar like Puma,Cougar and Oryx...

I have to agree 200% with you regarding the shape, it really was not easy to get it looking decent and right! I would really like it to be a nice model, since it is going to be my first helicopter model... I am going to need some assistance from you guys at here it is alright! I don't really know it the helicopter rotors are also animated like the prop planes prop since the top rotor and tail rotor turn at different speeds. It would also be nice if someone could help me with the NBAI take-off animation
Anyhow will keep you guys up to date on the progress.

miljan
Yes I have to agree there miljan. It is going to be great, I will when I finish with the Oryx, get some pictures to modify it accordingly to a Romanian IAR-330 or Puma. The Cougar or Super Puma is a different Story though, fuselage no quite the same... :smt004

I'm afraid we may not be able to help you much. You are designing in Gmax which is not as popular with the AI modeling community. We have no current modelers who work in Gmax, it's FSDS for everyone around here.

Not to worry about the moddeling phase at all... I was only talking about the xml animations, since that is the way NBAI helos worked and xml and animations statys the same, it does not matter if it is FSDS or Gmax!

Just my take on it :smt003

I have not really had any time to work on the model again, still a bit stuck on the tailboom and rotor connection to get it looking just right, I am sticker for Ai looking right haha At the moment I am just repainting some flyable aircraft but must start on the Oryx ASAP!

Thank you for the comment, really appreciate it!

Blessings and Regards
