MAIW FSX Installation Guide 2.0 Released

Hi everybody!

I have released version 2.0 of the MAIW FSX Installation Guide. It goes far beyond version 1.x by that it introduce a location concept for MAIW files in FSX and tells you exactly file by file which you should copy whereto and which to leave.

Also today The Owl's Nest layout has been changed. The menu bar has moved from left to top, the menu items dropping down. Furthermore the menu is alway visible. This should work with IE >= 6 and Mozilla.

I hope that you like both the new guide and the new web. Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Great Site Martin! Always on my bookmarks. I think the new layout is cleaner, and easier to follow.

Thanks for the new MAIW-FSX Install Guide. After using your 1.4 guide, and then doing the conversions
for so long, it has been pretty painless, with the exception of having to redo so many afcads. But even that has become easier with a great tool like ADE.

I will read the new version, and will always have it handy as a reference, when doing conversions.

Great Job,

The new layout does look nice, so often people redo their sites and they just don't seem as user friendly. Also took the opportunity to update the tools.

That's true, Steve.

I think the benefit is that the space where the menu was is now better used by content. For example the MAIW table was clustered after I added the airport and aircraft information and benefits from the greater space it can stretch into.

I would not have been able to do the work without the tutorials and examples from CCS Play. Even so I had some hard time to adapt it to fit my old design. I like the feature I have implemented on the recommended sites page - whenever you load or refresh it, the content is shuffled. No more need to scroll down that list to see the latest entry.
