Ran across this on another site...

If this is considered "advertising", delete the thread. No harm, no foul. I just thought some might be interested.

That preview has been on their site for about 2 years I think. And this is pretty much the first new shots in that time. Exciting project, I can't wait to see what it looks like. Captain Sim's work has always been fabulous.

I guess you missed the release date of Jan 2010?

Did anyone else see the part where it says the panel, VC and sound will all be aliased to the default FSX 747. That's lame!

That's something that AlphaSim would do.

NOTE: ** - VC, 2D panels, sounds alias default FSX B747.
Hopefully they will come out with a VC, panel, and sounds one day. I don't see the realism unless it feels like one on the inside.
Sorry Mike, you beat me to it.

The advert plainly states, "B52 exterior" which is quite strange for these guys.
But we all know some panel wizard is gonna have one ready...and hopefully for free.

Yeh but where's the VC. Captain Sim were quite ground breaking with their fully functional C-130 VC, where you could quite literally start the engines from cold, exactly the same way as in the real thing.
If it doesn't have that on this then this is a huge, huge dissapointment for me. I don't fly in FS much but I will be re-purchasing the Hercules Package from them to use in FSX.

Nick there is no VC, no 2D panel and no sound set. All you get is the exterior model a la AlphaSim's C-17.
I wonder if they lost interest in finishing the project and are just trying to make some money off of it.

That's ridiculous, very sad state of affairs and I'm very dissapointed. You would thing someone like Justflight would pick it up and add the other bits and release it boxed?

Since getting TrackIR-5, I just can't bring myself to fly aircraft that does not have a GOOD VC. This is the reason I refuse to purchase the AlphaSim C-17 (at least until they include VC). Looks like I will avoid the Captain Sim Buff as well. Thank heavens for the Aerosoft F-16. If you can afford it, a fast system with TrackIR and TileProxy really "puts you in the pilot's seat".

Well apparently they are "pleased" to announce that the "exterior" of their B-52 has been released.....
Wonder how long until one of these companies releases just a VC and you get to "pretend" that the aircraft exterior is whatever you want it to be?

I don't know. If they end up not completing the model with sound, VC and panel, then what do these people have? Nothing but a empty shell of a model. To my surprise, people are already buying it though. It looks great on the outside, that's for sure!

Hmmm...
Looks great, but, whats a plane with no noise and no cockpit? (Apart from cheapskate and pointless

)
