Military AI Works

I my effect/texture folder I have 4 files named fx_mig_antiburner.bmp, fx_mig_antiburner1.bmp, fx_mig_antiburne2r.bmp, and fx_mig_antiburner9.bmp. Does anyone know what plane these go with? Are they for a AI plane or a flyable plane? I am moving my stuff to a new computer and Im not putting in some stuff, and if those files are for a plane I am not putting in I will delete them.

the question you have to ask yourself is are you putting any migs in ? if you are i would keep them as they dont take up much if any space in your PC, i have 1,171 effect files in my sim taking up 127mb........

Thats the thing. I don't have any AI or flyable Migs in my sim. So I am not sure what plane these effect textures are for.

It would take forever, but you could search through each aircraft's cfg file to see if it makes use of those effects.

if it was me i would leave them in the effects, unless like mike says you go through all your CFG files

Just do a search for the word 'mig' and see what kind of results you get. Thats something you can do behind the scenes.

Will the windows search function recognise text inside a ".cfg" file? That might be a problem...

Opening every aircraft.cfg file individually in notepad is obviously not a time effective approach, but it would eventually give you answers.

By default Windows XP will ignore files with the .cfg extension!

describes how to change the Search settings in order to search all files.

I suggest to follow Method 2 to acheive the desired result!
I suppose later Windows editions such as Vista and Windows 7 behave similar!
