Can someone tell me how to do this in an easy to understand way with either AIFP or another tool?

Without wishing to sound rude here, the best way to understand and learn how to do these things is to get the programs AIFP or TTools and read the readme. Learn it yourself. It is quite a complicated process to explain on the boards. Sit down with your computer, get stuck in, read the readme's, even study some of our released packages to learn what type of flights we create, but most of all Trial and Error. Learn it the hard way. That is what all the guys who develop packages around here have done. I've been developing Flightplans and AFCADs etc for 7 years and I had to learn the hard way.
Give it a go and you will be rewarded.

I concur with what Nick has already said.
I can tell you that I started by reading the ttools readme, which explains quite a good deal. Although I use AIFP, I frequently use AITM by Thomas Molitor, as I found that to be quite an intuitive program to use, for me.
I will also say that start simple, one aircraft and a simple two leg flight plan. Once you have got to grips with that then expand to multi legs including TNGs, Touch and Go legs. With that mastered you then are able to build a flightplan for a flight, sqn, wing, base etc.
Each piece of information that you learn will aid you to dissect existing flight plans on your system, such as the MAIW ones.
Finally, I would say that in the early stages of your testing I would use one or two places that have little or no existing AI traffic. The reason being that it will be easier to see if the traffic turns up or not.

Thanks boys. I am just having trouble grasping the text turning into a bgl concept. lol Nick, thanks for everything you have done to make my flight sim experience way better, and steve, as always, thanks for your input.

I just wish I could see how it is done once, then i would be all good. I am just scared of messing up my flight sim.

Putting your text files through the compiler and having the resulting traffic file placed into your FS cannot mess up anything. If anything changes, just remove the traffic file but in thousands of such compilations, none of my FS installations have ever been affected by one traffic bgl.

As some of the others above have said:
Set some time aside to look into the helpful manuals that come with these tools. Get stuck in, following the steps as directed by the manuals, and when you have a specific question about a particular step or problem you encounter, drop by and ask here. Someone is bound to have the answer.
Once I'd looked into the Ttools manual/readme, my first step would probably be to use Ttools to decompile an existing MAIW traffic file in my FS9, and I'd choose a small sized file as well. If
you did that, you would get three text files:
Aircraft_***.txt
Airports_***.txt
Flightplans_***.txt
Study those files and refer to the manual. This should help you understand how to work with these files and what their purpose is. With a little trial and error, you will be writing flightplans yourself that can fit into FS9 alongside your MAIW packages. It is very rewarding if you see it through
