A child you held in your arms as a 1 week old baby is on the TV running in the European Championship Athletics.
Happened about 1 hour ago, when Elidh Child ran in the finals of the womens 400m hurdles.
Old? Right now I feel ancient!

Hmmmm. Are you claiming that the early coaching that you gave here helped? Maybe it could be that you scared her so much that she is still running!

I noticed that I am getting old, too, as I became uncle for the 10th time this week.
It's even funny when you tell those young kids about the times before "The Wall came down". My 5 year old nethew asked me if it did hurt anybody.

......A mate I joined the Navy with introduced me to his daughter &
asked me to keep an eye on her when she joined my ship later that
year. My notice went in not that long afterwards

Aye, I might still be feeling ancient, but today also very very proud.
The wee lassie I knew got Silver in the Commenwealth Games 400m hurdles.
