You can always change it, but what is it you want to change?

If you do that it will be on all the time. The MAIW F-15 afterburner effect is designed to only come on at take-off and timed to go off after a short time. But each to their own.

Excuse my ignorance guys.

Could Wolfhound not take the a/b textures from the Iris F-15 and rename them to "fx_f16_ab" then replace the original with the new (Iris)?

Stew,
You have been away so long mate that you have forgotten that nothing is ever that simple in FS.

Simply put there are problems with the simple rename. Firstly, the burner would be on all the time that the strobe is on - including turning onto the runway. Pretty visual but not quite realistic. So you need to mince about with the coding.

Wolfie,
I can look at replicating the look for you, as long as you don't mind waiting for quite a while, as I have made promises to others for projects. Drop me a pm in a couple of months and I will see what I can do for you.

It's really a dealers choice, my friend. I personally use the bluey one.
That is why the two burner types were included in the original Lakenheath package, one under the optional files. It's which ever one suits you more. I was requested to make the bluey one as it was closer to a match but the thing that I have learned is that burners look different in different lighting conditions and FS doesn't adjust for that.

I have to compromise somewhere, we find that a lot in FS, so I now try to work on sunny daylight pics to create a burner.

If you have the effect fx_nbai_f15_ab.fx installed from some F-15 packages then just alter fx_f16_ab to fx_nbai_f15_ab in your aircraft.cfg file.

N.B. It seems that some versions of the packages it was dropped. I have v2.0 of Lakenheath installed and it was in that but the version we have online is v4.0 and that has it completely removed but it is in the Eglin package at the very least.
