Construction of hangar for C-40A begins at Oceana

VIRGINIA BEACH
Oceana Naval Air Station on Tuesday hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for its new C-40A hangar.
Construction of the $16.2 million project should be complete in March 2012. Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 56 will switch from the C-9B (McDonnell Douglas DC-9-30) to the C-40A (Boeing 737-700) in the interim. The C-40A offers increased capacity, range and endurance, according to a Navy news release.
