Im looking for some really good Bagram AB scenery

, I've found one on flightsim.com but it doesnt add enough combat parking for my AI. I was hoping someone out there has a more realistic scenery for bagram since it really is an awesome base in real life. Thanks in Advance

I was working on one but have been side tracked by work. I was at Bagram this time year, so I would be happy to help someone out. I can tell you this, it looks nothing like the image you see on google earth. That shot is 5 years old.

Yeah I flew from Kabul to Bagram two years ago in a H-60 on a liaison mission. That base is massive! I can't imagine what it must look like now.
You sure like a challenge, James!

I have an FS9 AFCAD based on the Air Field layout from last year if you want it.

Definitely!
I've taken a look at it from Google Earth too, if I add all those tents this will kill framerates seriously!
I hope sth. has changed!
Anyway, just be patient, as I already told you I have several things to work on at the moment, Eielson included!
Tomorrow is a bank holiday here, so I have a bit of spare time!

Best way to do that airfield would be with custom scenery. You could make all those tents just a single scenery object with one small texture. That would save a lot of fps, placing them each as individual objects will really hurt the fps.

In fact I was thinking about it, that would be a nice solution for other sceneries featuring "repeated" objects (i.e. trees and houses)... how can it be done?

You'll need GMAX or FSDS to create "repeated" objects.
Making the models itself is rather easy but texturing to make it look nice is time-consuming.

Thanks Hartwig, I'll see if I can get one of those programs!

Not sure about Kandahar but here's the only recent photo I could find for Bagram AB.
Makes it hard to do scenery or even a decent AFD file when you have very little to go on.

Nice. Just how I remembered it.

The place is just GIANORMOUS! I think it rivals the size of Nellis. I honestly can't see the coalition leaving Afghanistan any time soon with that much investment put into that base so far.
I guess we could start with using the GE image from 2005 as a guide, get the AFD built up to match that, then start adding on the rest using images as a guide and first hand accounts from those of you that have been there recently.

I was really hoping someone else would volunteer to do the AFD file.....

Pretty soon the whole of the RAF could be stationed there.
