Flatten problem

Hi all, I'm working around FDE for carrier operation and testing it, I've noticed a problem never seen before.
Some times ago I created an AFCAD for the Italian Carrier Cavour, a good addon that adds the ship in middle Adriatic sea.
Toghether the AFCAD I created also a flatten file to mantain the sea level at its height and not at the AFCAD height.
If I start a flight from a location in the nearby and from there go to the Cavour, it stands at the height of the AFCAD, at top of a little hill of water as the flatten doesn't work.
If I go to a far airport and come back to the Cavour, all works fine and is at right height, so basically the flatten file is correct.
I've already tried the following :
Flatten file in the scenery dir of the Cavour directory
Move it in scenery dir of Addon Scenery
Move it in a newly created Cavour_flatten\scenery directory
I've always have the same problem.

Any idea on how I can sort it out?

Thanks in advance, Giorgio

Ciao Giorgio,
have you tried to copy the file in the FS9/Scenery/Base/Scenery folder?

Seperate flattens from the carrier scenery, put it in it's own folder like Flatten, put a scenery folder in there, put the flatten file in the scenery folder ( Addon Scenery\Flatten\scenery\AF2_flat.bgl ) and add it to your scenery library but make sure it's priority is above the carrier scenery.

Clarck, probably I didn't explain it so well, but I've already tried what you suggest and it doesn't work...

Thanks anyway

Another solution: add flatten strings in the scenery.cfg file... but what should be written?

Tried to add a string in scenery.cfg but it is not written in the right way.
FS give me an error : Latitude Flatten 8 not valid
Someone know in which order have to be inserted the vertices of the flatten polygon?

This is what I inserted in scenery.cfg
Flatten.0=0.0,N43 45.9747,E14 11.00,N43 45.9749,E14 10.8524,N43 46.1071,E14 10.8524,N4346.1071,E14 11.00

Starting from bottom-right and proceed clockwise.
I assume that the first number should the height of the polygon

What programme are you using to create the flatten?

I use FSTflatten.exe , Can not remember where I got it, but it came together other small programs, If I remember right, I found it thanks to one of the "How to" seriers on Flightsim.

Ah, well there's your problem. Use AFCAD to make carrier flatten files. You make a seperate afcad with just an apron taxiway link that goes down the middle of the carrier extending out either end by a few hundred feet and make it 800 feet wide then put the file where I mentioned in my earlier post.

Sort it out! Thanks a lot Clarck.
I do not understand why the other method didn't work.
P.S. the error mentioned in the previous post was due to a "space" forgotten in the string
