RAF Jetstreams

Post by delbydoo »

For all those retro buffs out there, I will shortly be releasing paints for the PAI Jetstream 31 in the guise of No 6 FTS from RAF Finningley (c.1990), and its successor, No. 45(R) Sqn from RAF Cranwell (c.2003). I just need to do all the serials for the Cranwell birds and chuck some flight plans together for them and they should be done within the next week.

No 45(R) Sqn RAF Cranwell c.2003

They are now just waiting for a home - the Cranwell ones will be ready to run as soon as I have done the fp's but for those who want the Finningley ones, they will have to wait a little longer as I need to do an afcad for the airfield.

I have just uploaded two Jetstream packs up to Avsim, one for Cranwell and the other for Finningley; they should be available within the next 24 hours.

Is there a way of changing the prop textures?

No idea mate, they're mapped along with the fuselage, I just changed the original paint to one that represented the RAF prop colours - I shall take a look but shadowing and shading are not my strong point....

Well my first attempt is an almight fail - the texture is playing all sorts of devilry with clouds and not good....

So I am going to leave as is at the moment, until I can figure a way of doing it properly, cos it also means that when I change it on one airframe, I will have to do the rest of them as well!! That's the disadvantage of not having a separate prop texture.... :?

Daryl, I realise that I stand a chance of you throwing something at me but have you thought, or tried, to add the schemes to the Dee Waldron Jetstream?
This model has a separate prop_hs texture and it would tie up with the RN paints out there for that model. Also that model does have the Turboméca Astazou's.

:smt005 Do you know Steve, I have that one on my system and it didn't even occur to me to use it? :smt076 But hold on to that thought and I may give it a go.......where's that bloody paint brush.......
