Haven't managed to get the probe into the drogue yet but I'll keep on trying.

Another view. I've given up trying to refuel - the problem, as I'm sure you're aware, is that AI aircraft refuse to fly straight and level thus making this an impossible job.

If you are using real weather, Active Sky, try switching off upper winds. They are relatively stable, its the wind blowing aircraft off course during the automatic waypoints that makes them swerve all over the place.
I don't know if REX has the same feature.
Of course, if you don't have real weather on then i will shut up and go away.

Thanks Steve. In this particular instance I didn't have ActiveSky activated (so to speak) so it's just the bog-standard FS9 weather engine doing what it wants to do. No, the AI 707 tanker was flying straight and true until I got up close in the flyable F1 and then it started to veer left and right as if it was trying to avoid my crashing into it. That made it impossible for me to connect to the drogue. No doubt AI aircraft behaving this way has been discussed somewhere before in the dim and distant past and I've just missed it.
