Looking for a recommendation on a good tree library? Preferably one that has ADE thumbnails (i really dont want to have to capture thumbs of 100 trees myself).

Any of the Mathew Tompkins tree libraries or Gerrish Grey libraries we have permission to use in our packs. Don't know if there are thumbnail packs for them though.

All of those libraries should be on the FTP site.

Meh....they are, Mike. But unfortunately, no thumbs....I will have to 'plant' each one then take a screenshot so i know for future reference which is which.....

...And while I am on the subject of trees, is there a tool available that will allow me to (locally) add more autogen trees? Something that could potentially add to treeline density without being an actual scenery object?

Adding autogen is a pain. You might look around the net for a proggy that will do that. I know there is at least one out there but I've never had a chance to check it out.

You also might look for thumbnail packs for those tree libraries before you make your own. Pretty sure the Matt Tomkins ones have thumbnails already floating around out there somewhere.

Cool. I will do that. Looks as though we use a number of his tree libraries....

Instant Scenery 2 makes the pictures automatically :)

Well I tried MT trees, but they are all summer? Ideally I would like to find ones that have automatic seasonal variations....I looked at the Gerrish Gray tree library, but ADE9 won't load it since there seems to be no included GUID. I am once again stumped. I definitelt don't want bright green trees in a snowy region...

You're most welcome. Check Arno's readme, but I'm almost 100% sure they can be used without any restrictions.

Even better! This is awesome...now all I have to do is see how many I can put in...in one sitting lol

Just so you know, large amounts of individually placed trees really hurt fps performance. It's not the 2d polys, it's the textures.

The better option, confirmed by both Ian and Nick is to make them inside of FSDS as just one big object with lots of little parts.

Yeah I am aware of that, Mike...I think what I am going to do is just use them as filler and to enhance some rather empty areas
