Great job...

It's been a long while since I've been here to MAIW. Been quite a while since I've run FS... Looks like you added long list of great AI Packs. Remember when you all were just starting out.

Just some constructive criticism here on the P-3/EP-3E packs...

1. They look great :) But way too many tail ...

Lot of times blame is laid else where.... had a crew do 2, high-power aborts on the take-off roll. Going back around for the 3rd try the crew heard a loud bang, instead of pulling in and letting maintenance take a look, (and they taxied right by the ramp we parked on) they went ahead for the 3rd ...

On the 53's is there a Minesweeper ship or something of that nature at the Shipyard AI site? (can't remember the name of it, at work)... One thing to do there could be to put them in the Gulf of Mexico, or the Persian Gulf for that matter with the MH-53's working with them... If in the Gulf of ...

SH53 ?? Making up aircraft as we go?

SH-3 ?? Havn't flown ASW in years. what left of 'em fly trash, and are SAR birds. But they are going away quicker than the S-3.

SH-60 is our ASW Helo.

I am keeping altitudes low for the helicopters (2000) , mid-range for P-3 (5000) and for the E6 (10000 ...

Depends on the ego of Commanding Officer. :smt003

Not really as fast as we change planes around... Isn't worth the effort. With CMO coming online (Jax already there, KBay in June, not sure when Brunswick and Whidbey come online) the CO of the squadrons will have ZERO say, he won't own any ...

Guys,

I really like the current USN paint scheme as depicted in the following AI screenshot:

I just happened to compile this model with the missles. I think most of the models would not have them, especially in this scheme. I just wanted to see what it would look like with them

How right you are, considering that for the USN EP-3E's are the only P-3's in this scheme... There are some ...

Sounds like a awesome project...

Didn't see it listed, might have missed it.

The USN P-3 would be operating out of Pohang, Korea (RKTH) That's where the ROK P-3's are.

Thanks for all the info...

PDM or periodic depot maintenance

Hmm...

P-3's in the Navy are on a PDM cycle (Though we call it Planned Depot Maintenance).

The rest of the fleet is on what is called SDLM (pronouced Sid-Lum, and is Scheduled Depot Level Maintenance.

The difference you may ask ...

Air Force Rework Facilities???

Navy aircraft go into rework every so many years(aircraft dependent). We call them Depot's, Atsugi, Jacksonvlle, Cherry Point, Norfolk, North Island are locations of some of them, as well as some contractor facilities, we in the Navy send planes also to Greenville SC, Greenville, TX, Waco, TX for ...

Re: hunter army airfield

I have just read on Wikipedia, that Hunter Army Airfield/Fort Stewart in Georgia can have on the ground 50 C-17`s simultaneously. That would be a sight to behold, but would they really have that many at a time ?

I believe they are just trying to express how "big" the ramp is... 350 ...

Just a quick question. Where are the E3C's based? RODN, PAED, or KTIK? Or maybe at all 3?

All 3. The majority in KTIK, with a couple each in PAED, and RODN.

Also where do I go to see the Boeing feild based prototype? I know it says Boeing feild, but when I went to BFI to look for the plane I ...

Jake,

I just came across a word doc that is a P-3 Walkaround, was put together by VP-30(The Training Command) It has some pretty good pics of the different P-3 models and antennea locations. Problem is the thing is 39MB, and password protected... So can't break it up into smaller sizes, email it ...
