The Indian air force is set to field two more Lockheed Martin C-130J tactical transports, with the pair having left the company’s Marietta, Georgia production and test site in the USA on 15 June.
Registered KC-3804 and 3805, the stretched-fuselage Hercules are the third and fourth examples to have been delivered from a six-unit order worth $1.2 billion. They will arrive at Hindon air base near New Delhi within the coming days, where they will be inducted by the air force’s 77 Sqn.
Lockheed flew its first example to the site early this year, before exhibiting the aircraft at February’s Aero India air show near Bengaluru.
“The remaining two C-130Js on order will be delivered later this summer,” Lockheed said. The company has previously forecast additional sales of the type to the Indian air force, which has also just signed a $4.1 billion contract to receive 10 Boeing C-17 strategic transports.

Unfortunately they went not to the place I stay in India. Otherwise I would have gone to the base to take some pics.
