RAF Lyneham
Local news reports that all 33 C-130s are now based at Brize. All personnel set to move shortly but many are complaining that their base housing is not ready at Brize so many will commute everyday from Lyneham until it closes next year

Re: RAF Lyneham
Even though Brize is a big place, I still can't figure out where they're going to put all those extra aircraft! And as for actually closing RAF Lyneham and handing it over to the GRUNTs, well, that just beggars belief! (I served at both bases in my time).

It appears, according to the news report, that Brize has been expanded for the Herks.

According to Defence Minister Adam Ingram Lyneham is to be sold off for non-military use in 2012. It was rumoured it was to be a joint housing estate / business park.

Looks like no one in government knows what is going on. No change there then!
