In case anyone is interested.
There is a Virtual Military Airlift Command, which allows you to fly your Mil stuff with a purpose.
No restrictions on routes etc, no requirement to fly online.

I'd be interested, but are they total Nazis about training and all that? Virtual USAF kinda turned me off in that they micro-managed every move you ever made.

Nope,
You do one short circuit and after that you're clear to do your own thing.
They have scheduled flights throughout the world, or you can just do your own "charter" flights wherever you want.
BTW - you'll get credit for hours flown on other VA's
