Looking good there Tim.

All that's needed is the huge lake of fuel lying on the ground and the constant drips from all the leaks.

Homey?

Trying to build an ADE for Homey as well, but I might abandon that attempt soon and take up 3D modelling instead, as it seems that whenever I pick a new airport project, someone has already beat me to it

Just curious; is the SR-71 a AI by any chance? Struggling to make one but not having any luck.
I used the air file from a B-1B. Using a Air editor, I tried to make it work in the SR-71.
The B-1B shows up in FS 2004.
Any suggestions would be of great help.

The only reson that a B-1 would show up is that an aircraft title entry is pointing to a B-1 mdl file. Using a B-1 .air file on its own would not cause this.

As Tim stated some time ago, the model comes with the Alphasim Beale package, which I believe is still currently payware.
As of this moment there is no other finished AI SR-71.

Firebird, here is the B-1B air file and the aircraft cfg. Maybe you could show me what I'm doing wrong here. Next reply will show SR-71 air file.
The SR-71 is still not showing up.
Appreciate it.

:) Wow let's see those blackbirds. yes it's now Team SDB US airfields pack well worth a tenner, comes with a lot of AI aircraft. I made Groom using some photographs and making up the textures as they were long distance shots but looks more or less like the real thing. I just had trouble with the AF2 cutting into the hills making cliffs instead of hills so I gave up, flattens seemed to make the effect worse.
Tim
Here's the AFCADs if you want them, 1GRM is for the Security Pavehawks. btw it's designed to work with TJ Sikral's photoreal on Avsim or Flightsim

OK, your amended cfg file shows sim=Lockheed SR-71A this means that your air file has to be called 'Lockheed SR-71A.air' the second post shows that your air file is actually called 'Lockheed SR-71A AI.air'. This means that there is no air file for the model. A small quick util like ACA2007 Light would show this up. You would probably be surprised at how many errors you have in your aircraft cfg files. The full blown ACA2005 will also show you the problem as well.

Either altering the parm or renaming the air file will fix that.

Now, once you have done that the SR-71 still may not show up but it probably will. This will depend on whether you are using the just the air file from the B-1 or whether you are using the cfg as well. The problem with using the cfg file from the B-1 is that it is set up to balance the B-1 mdl not the SR-71 mdl and you can have an issue where the AI aircraft tips up and sinks without a trace as soon as the sim starts and unless you are extremely lucky and quick.
Now you could, and I think you are, using an AI air file with a flyable cfg file. This may also result in unpredictable results including but not limited to the pitch up and sink problem.

There is one golden rule to follow if you are converting flyers to AI. Start with the air AND cfg files from a genuine AI aircraft of a close if not similar performance that you are trying to create. Then modify the cfg file so that it fits the mdl, i.e. lights and contact points. Once you have the model showing up and sitting right only then start to mod the performance in the cfg to suit your needs.

Final warning.
Almost every parm you alter affects more than one area of flight. Small changes are required, check the outcome and then mod further if necessary. It is time consuming, and very time consuming if you change the performance a lot.

What seems like a good idea at the time is, but it takes more thought and work than you were initially prepared for.
