The whole reason for the quiet spike program is to negate the sonic boom from aircraft above Mach 1.

I would reckon that it's a complete success. Carrying the weight of that huge nose would mean you'd never get near Mach 1!!

Maybe NASA/Gulfstream are considering taking on the guys at Ally Pally next year.
