I'm working on the T-6 Texan II. I started with the Hellenic trainer package. These are very basic repaints, but at least get the T-6A and the T-6B in my flightsim at Pensacola, Whiting, and Columbus.
Do I need to get permission from the a/c authors (Dave Friswell) or the MAIW Project Manager for the Hellenic Trainers before I upload the texture files for everyone to look at or add to?

Reggie, MAIW have permission from Dave to use his model etc. I think it would be only good practice for you to contact him before including it in any packages.Reggie wrote:I'm working on the T-6 Texan II. Of course, you could just do the repaints and load them to Avsim/Flightsim, without the model and air files. Folks would then have to download them separately.
Dave owns the model, but the repaints are your intellectual property.

Nice timing, just getting the repaints "lewis" did for the XL/RA Texans and adding ones I found for Pensacola. Getting pics from Fencecheck of all the VN/CB/EN and North Whiting for the DFAI model in the Greek Trainers package. Do you have a paintkit?

Re: T-6 Texan II
I'm using DXTBmp. Like I said, these are very "basic" repaints and I will still keep updating them. I've never repainted before, but am desperate to get the T-6 going. I live near Pensacola, so I'm in "T-6 land". There is a T-6 or a T-34 over my house nearly every minute of the day.
I tried to upload a couple of screenshots, but the files were too big. Anyone know how to reduce the size for upload?
I can also e-mail them to you if you want to take a look.......................

Yep, I was stationed there in my Navy days. I just finally got Gimp downloaded so I can start doing my own paints, just need to figure out layers as the paints in the HAF package are of course MAIW quality, so panel/rivet lines look great. I had to rename the repaints from T6 to PC9 but everything works including the prop for me in FSX.
I fly the IRIS T-6 alot and was looking to use one of the T-6B paints as a base on the DFAI model to start populating N. Whiting.
