Well, the C-17 and several old Russian birds could revers before touching down! I just gotta get used to fly with a joystick!

The HS Trident used to reverse thrust in flight

They used it for high angle "late" descents. The Trident was also the first "auto-land" aircraft.

Not too shabby for an aircraft in the 1960s.
