Hence my question.....I've just read another report about a Pakistani F-16 jock who said the Typhoon was trounced 3 times during Anatoli Eagle in Turkey, but again the quote was unverifiable......the reason was that NATO pilots were not that well-taught in close-in air to air combat.

My thing is this: Do the aerospace companies just leak this kind of stuff maliciously, just so that the whole thing would snowball into the intense debates that are taking place here, just to create a maelstrom of publicity for their products.....or, like most other internet-based rumours, it is the work of one individual who just wants to kick something off.......rumours are just that, and to be taken quite literally with a pinch of salt.

But, just look at what happened to the F-15 back in the early 80s (and this IS verified) when it met the Sea Harrier under Sharkey Ward? In close DACT it won hands down, BUT in BVR, it was a no-win for the SHAR......so ii comes down to the old saying "six of one, half a dozen of the other".

Well when reading the Pakistani reports you have to take into account what they were taking delivery of and what was in the running for the Indian fighter competition. I am tempted to take these reports with a pinch of salt taking into account other reports between Tiffs v F-15s and distinct lack of encouragement of Tiff v F-22 engagement.
A bit of mind games is going on there me thinks.

That article was written BEFORE India made their final decision. Coincidence??

Besides, how could an Aussie exchange pilot have flown both the SuperHornet and Tiffy already? Australia just got their Super's last year and they're just getting up to speed on them.
